How to be happier in 2026

I want to be happier in 2026…but how do I actually do it?

Excellent question because it’s on all of our new year’s resolution lists 📋✨.

But it can be a frustrating goal because happiness hard to define and hard to measure📏 , which means it’s hard to know if you are actually making progress.

You can get bogged down in existential debates on what happiness is.

Or overwhelmed by all the people telling you how to do it:

▪️ this amount of money
▪️ this morning routine
▪️ this career path
▪️ this family structure
▪️ this particular perfume or meal replacement

But here are a few things we do know about happiness:

▪️ it involves health and wellness
▪️ it involves purpose
▪️ it involves being part of a community

And we also know that there is probably more than one path to happiness, otherwise we would all have agreed on a formula by now.

I don’t have all the answers, and I’m fine with that because I don’t need all of them to start.

I can make a list of things that make me happy:

⛸️ figure skating
😴 8 hours of sleep
💥 working hard on things I love
🧘‍♀️ doing nothing after working hard on things I love
🎂 Cake Thursdays
👂 slow conversations with no agenda
☕ good coffee

And then I can schedule them and do more of them.
It really is allowed to be that simple!

I 100% reject the idea that happiness is an aspirational goal reserved for the lucky few
