Defying Gravity

This was a request for a photo shoot like no other! I love that photographer Sane Seven had the vision for something a bit crazy and a bit dangerous! It wasn't easy but Sane had total faith I would figure out how to balance on two bars while doing the splits.

Huge thank you to The Telegraph for publishing! You can read the full article here .

I like that you have to look quite closely at the photo before realizing I have an artificial leg. It says a lot about how Sane sees my disability.

It says, "Yes, your disability is interesting, but it's not the most interesting thing about you."

It says, "Yes, your disability is part of you, but it's not your identity."

The point was to challenge assumptions around what is possible, and sometimes an image can be more powerful than words.
